Case study – ais

Do it right
the first time.

AIS came to CET late, with dealers already specifying their products through CIL and no material mapping behind them. The goal wasn’t to catch up. It was to build it right the first time, so the extension could scale without scaling the team.

The challenge

Catch up fast, without cutting corners.

AIS came to CET later than they would have liked. Dealers were specifying AIS via CIL with no material mapping, so AIS needed to catch up — fast. The challenge wasn’t just building an extension. It was building one that could meet and exceed designers’ expectations, training a support team that wasn’t yet fluent in CET, and scaling alongside a growing user base without requiring a growing internal staff to maintain it.

The solution
Built in code, backed by partnership.

PlatinumEdge’s PGC-first approach was a decisive factor — when rules are written in code rather than catalogue symbols, changes are faster, and maintenance costs drop over time. The upfront investment is higher, but the long-term payoff is significant.

Because we work inside the same ecosystem our clients design in, we offer more than technical execution: honest guidance on what works and what designers actually expect.

AIS was hands-on from day one. With their team embedded in the process and weekly meetings keeping decisions moving, the extension launched quickly and strategically — starting with the products that drove the most revenue and building from there. Along the way, PlatinumEdge and AIS leveraged key relationships within the ecosystem to help test, shape, and refine the extension before it went live.

Once established, AIS built out their own internal development team to handle ongoing maintenance and new product additions, but PlatinumEdge remains a strategic part of the long-term success and stability of AIS’s extension.  All AIS developers are required to complete PlatinumEdge training before touching the extension, ensuring that consistency and quality are never compromised. AIS also partners with PlatinumEdge for strategic support, discovery, and continued education for AIS CET programmers. Maintaining a strong partnership is important. Should anything go awry, expert support is always within reach.

The results

Top 20% by user count
+

In-house

Renderings once outsourced, now done in CET

AIS now has over 3,800 active CET users, placing them in the top 20% of extensions by user count. The AIS design team turns renderings around faster — work that was previously outsourced is now done entirely in CET. In addition, the rules-based approach helps dealers who work across many manufacturers avoid errors without needing to master every product line. It has also improved AIS’s internal engineering process by asking more questions earlier in product development process.

By leveraging PGC and maintaining a partnership with PlatinumEdge, AIS continues to scale their presence in CET without scaling their overhead.

In their words

We always feel like we're learning & growing with PlatinumEdge.

It’s an investment in your future. You can do it right the first time, or you can do it twice.

Tim trained our programmers before they start. They have to meet the PlatinumEdge standard. You want to retain the investment.

Clear Design

Built right. Staying right.

Clear Design didn’t come with a broken extension — they came before one could become a problem. The goal was to build something right from the start.
Enwork

From unusable to indispensable

Enwork’s original CET extension wasn’t meeting user needs. After a full rebuild, it became one of their strongest growth drivers.
