From unusable to indispensable.
Users tried it once and never came back.
Enwork had a CET extension, but it wasn’t meeting user needs. It was difficult to use, did not perform reliably, and many users tried it once and then uninstalled it, limiting the adoption of Enwork products in CET and stunting their presence on the platform entirely.
Rebuilt from scratch. The results grew, not the overhead.
PlatinumEdge rebuilt the Enwork extension around smart symbols and a more user-friendly experience. The rebuild started with discovery understanding not just the product catalog, but the rules, exceptions, and edge cases that the original extension had missed or gotten wrong.
The new extension launched in 2022. It was built to give designers more flexibility while still guiding them toward accurate, buildable products they could use with confidence. Enwork managed the entire process with a single internal point of contact and a lean team of in-house designers who served as testers. Overhead didn’t grow — the results did.
The results
Adoption didn’t just recover it compounded. Enwork has grown from a few hundred users to nearly 4,500, including 500 new users in the last year alone. Tasks that once took 15 minutes can now be completed in about 3 minutes, and designers continue asking for more because the extension is efficient, intuitive, and capable of supporting even complex products.
Beyond improving usability, the rebuilt extension has become both an ordering and a marketing tool for Enwork. By making products easier to specify and more trustworthy to use, it has helped drive sales, increase adoption year after year, and support business growth that stands out in the market. More importantly, the extension became something users reached for rather than avoided. It became part of how Enwork sells an asset, not a liability.
In their words
Stepping into a new world that's the best way I can put it. It just changed everything about how we work with specifiers.
“The gain you’re going to get from having a well-built extension — it pays for itself. Many times over.”
“It became a friendship. I consider you guys part of my work business. You learn to trust each other — and that’s the biggest thing.”
